Here Is My Handle, Here Is My Snout

Sparked by the video of Kingston The Pig that's been going around the blogosphere, I've realized I have this problem. That problem is an obsession with teacup pigs. But can you hardly blame me? Let's examine the facts.

That'll Do, Pig: Making the case for teacup pigs

Rule of Life #286: Anything tiny is cute. Especially if it's in a cup.

Exhibit A:
Tiny and on a scale. Bonus points for fitting into a really cute teacup.

Exhibit B: Two of them! And they're ducks! Oh. Em. Gee.

Exhibit C: In a pinch, a McDonald's cup will suffice.
And we all know how much I want a chihuahua.

Rule of Life #286, Clause A: Any animal that is tiny as a baby and remains tiny as an adult is exponentially cuter. (See also Exhibit C and miniature ponies.)
Exhibit D: This little guy can literally fit in the palm of your hand.
And he's wrinkly and has a teensy little schnozzle!

Exhibit E: Really, all I want is one. But three would be good, too.

Rule of Life #286, Clause B: Combining a tiny pig plus a teacup is pretty much cute-nirvana.

Exhibit F: So I first linked to a picture of this little guy on twitter and then
proceeded to have an entire conversation about tiny bacon. Heh.
Conclusion: This is no longer a matter of WANT, it's a matter of NEED. They run from about $250 to $350 and I'm currently at the stage where that seems completely reasonable. Even though I won't be able to get one for the next two years or so, owning a teacup pig is most definitely a dream of mine. (Unless I smuggle one to Vancouver and his name will be CB, short for Canadian Bacon.) Send all donations to the Buy Gretchen A Teacup Pig Foundation.*
Addendum: I'm ridiculously proud of the title for this post.
Thanks: Pictures via Cute Overload and ABC News
*Not a real foundation. Yet.

You SHOULD be proud of that title - that's good stuff, right there.

Also, as a side note, sometimes when my husband or I mean to say "ok" to each other in response to something, we'll say instead, "That'll do pig. That'll do." Honestly. We're goobers like that. :)

The world would be a happier (and cuter) place if we all had teacup pets.

Oh yes. That'll do, Pig. That'll do.

LMAO canadian bacon! I have never heard of these, but they look adorable! Where do you buy them? Also, remember the movie Babe? Totally made me want to train a pig as a dog.

I want to thank you for adding another thing onto my life dream list: owning a farm with completely miniature animals.

I would also like a pig for myself. The only problem is... I don't think I could ever eat bacon again. And I love me some bacon.

Gretchen, that title is so brilliant. And I now have a strong desire to own a pig.

I can't get over how adorable those pigs are.

TG is not a fan. Maybe I'll brainwash him in his sleep...

I was not aware that pigs existed that small.

Now I totally want one.

Granted, I'm squeeing over all of these pictures and fully ready to endorse any animal or well, anything that's in a teacup (oddly, except tea) but man, you are cute too! For how you wrote everything and for loving all these cuties. So um, get in a teacup. The ones at Disney DO count. I'll take you home and feed you crumpets! ...Yea, this sounds weird. It's late. :D

Ooo, I want one of these too! I LOVE pigs. I haven't eaten pork since the second grade, when my mother read me Charlotte's Web. They're such intelligent creatures.

Makes me think of Lauren Myracle's story in Let It Snow :)

You have caused me to become discontented.

Pigs are so cute. My friend got one earlier this week and it is ADORABLE. It's a five month old pink potbelly but it's very clean and adorable. It just wanders around the house and nibbles on your toes and eating blueberries. And is really really smart.
